Introducing the Maquila Solidarity Network

A link to the Maquila Solidarity Network has been added to the Recommended Website List.  The Maquila Solidarity Network (MSN) is a labour and women's rights organization that supports the efforts of workers in global supply chains to win improved wages and working conditions and a better quality of life.

Just at the moment, with commentary circulating on social media about the pervasiveness of rape culture here in North America following mainstream media's coverage of the Steubenville trial (sympathetic to the highschool-age rapists), and recent Avaaz campaigns about rape culture in India and Somalia, I feel acutely aware that any actions we can take to maximize women's control of their economic activities and, by extension, their independence is positive for all of us. Thanks Bev!
